2012 – Best Year So Far

Everybody does these end-of-the-year summaries and New Year’s Resolutions, and I never understood their appeal. And here I am, feeling the urge to sum up 2012 on New Year’s Eve.

It was great.

Outwardly, I lost around forty pounds/twenty kilos, changed my eating habits, began training much more seriously in ballet and started blogging in earnest.

Inwardly, I learned to love myself and life so much more than ever before. I discovered a spring of joy, strength and inspiration in my soul. I learned to open myself up to beauty in every form, and have begun to try and express it.

Joy, Beauty, Lightness, Love.

As far as New Year’s resolutions go, I never really had any before. This time, just this: I will live life in pursuit of true happiness, doing and thinking what feels good. Everything else will fall into place. Of course, I’d like to become slender and beautiful, have lots of money, become a very good dancer, make a few GOOD friends, fall in love with a wonderful man (who loves me back, of course), get my own place and be universally admired. But all this would just be to make me happy. Ultimately, I know what I want: Bliss. And I think I have already found it.

But you can never have enough, you never stop wanting more, you never stop expanding and growing, and that is the beauty of life.

Happy New Year, everybody!
